Margaret Durow

Margret Durow’s website bio is simple: born nov 2, 1989, wisconsin, usa. Her work is anything but, in fact for one so young she has an amazing eye. In an interview with the author of privelidge house she spoke about her creative process:

“when i experience anything i think most about the way it looks and feels. i feel obsessed with trying to capture it all in one photo. i feel like if i dont take a photo im not fully appreciating everything around me that i love so much. other times i feel like i have to take a photo just to acknowledge something because i know in just a few minutes the light will change and it won’t look the same, it may never look like that again. i need to remember how it looks now, it always just feels so important not to forget. maybe its not all that important.”

She is both a member of and published in JPEG Issue 10: Breakthrough, June—July 2007 (although she does not use the account and recommends that you view her on Flickr instead). she can also be viewed on Flickriver. In either case she has a few images (including  the one that I have cropped for this posts thumbnail), that document her back tumor, and subsequent surgery to correct her scoliosis.
